Brian Randell was one of the co-founders of GENUKI (pronounced genooki) in the early days of the internet. In the latest Journeys into Genealogy interview he shares its history, what it contains and how it can help anyone interested in finding out more about genealogy in the UK and Ireland. From parish maps to Devon wills and much, much more.
The main interview is on the Journeys into Genealogy podcast (available at all good podcast hosts including Apple and Spotify) and a transcript of this interview is below.
Here’s a short extract…
Main interview transcript
This is an excellent podcast. I listen to them as I'm driving to and from my house into town. I've used Genuki and remember its very early inception way back when the internet was still brand new. I've not looked at it in a while but must check it out.
Thank you for publishing the transcript. I much prefer reading. I like the observation "Genealogy is an organized way, an interesting way of exploring history, or at least of exploring family history, community history, local history and so on."
